Remarkable ladies

After two years in the boonies of Peshawar Pakistan, Nina is finally back States-side.  A joyful reunion in Washington DC over the weekend with my two best friends from school, full of catching-up over luxurious brunches, long walks around the city, a Wes Anderson flick, debates about under-eye creme, and watching tv in our pajamas.

Predictable

Was at a friend’s house the other night watching football. After stuffing ourselves on Chinese take-out, we were all chilling out watching the game when:

Jesse: Hey, do you know about that rabbit that like, balances stuff on its head?

Jennie: Yes!

Jesse: Do you like it?

Jennie: Oolong the bunny is awesome.

Jesse: That’s so weird! I work with this girl whose name is also Jennie and she loves that rabbit too. She has a picture of it as her desktop. Why do all Chinese girls like that rabbit?

Jennie: …actually, I just recently changed my desktop to a rotating set of pictures from Oolong.

Jesse: See! I told you!

Who doesn’t like the pancake bunny??

Oolong Desktop

Wes Anderson single-handedly takes the word ‘handjob’ to a whole new level. I still think none of his other movies can match Rushmore.

It’s hard to explain how much this movie means to me. I’ve watched it well over a dozen times, especially in college. Haven’t watched it in a while though, maybe it’s time for a viewing this weekend…
